Raptor Report
March 2024
A Message From the Head Raptor
Spring has sprung! This crazy weather is keeping us on our toes! Please continue to send hats, gloves, boots, and warm jackets. It’s better for the kids to have options for what to wear outside than to be cold and have wet shoes while trying to learn.
Our Reading Raptor Challenge started this week. Read and Responds are important because having a routine at home that includes time for practicing reading every day will help your child grow as a reader! Sports and activities your child may be in after school are often about practicing to get better… reading fluently takes lots of practice too!
This week we are celebrating Read Across America with a week of fun activities including our Family Reading Night on Thursday, March 7th. This week we are looking forward to dress up days, popcorn, lots of books, and an evening of fun with our families. We can’t wait to see you
Grades 3-5 families, mark your calendars for our upcoming FORWARD testing. Our State standardized test is given to all grades 3-5 students. Please plan ahead and avoid having your child absent during testing. Our testing windows will be Grades 3 & 5 April 9-12 and Grade 4 April 9-12 & April 16-18. You will get more detailed information with times for testing each day from your child’s classroom teacher.
Reading Night
Please join us on March 7th for a fun filled reading night!

Attendance Matters
Attendance continues to be a priority for students here at Riverview. As a whole, our schoolwide attendance goal is 95%. We want to see all students being HERD: Here, Everyday, Ready and Determined to learn. This includes not only daily attendance, but arriving on time as well. Opportunities to learn start as soon as the bell rings!
Transitional Kindergarten starts at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm, TK eats breakfast right after the bell rings.
Kindergarten-5th grade start at 8:40 am and end at 3:40 pm. Breakfast is served at 8:15-8:40. Students not eating breakfast may arrive at 8:25 for supervised playground time.
If your family is struggling with daily attendance or arriving on time, please reach out so we can problem solve together! Call the office at 920-663-9500.
